Once in the office, I briefly walk you through on what to expect during your session and answer any questions you might have. Then, you will have the opportunity to discuss any concerns, areas that you wish to target, or things you might be going through. Healing appointments end approximately 10-15mins before so I have some time to go over any findings and discuss any appropriate action to take.

Appointment Policies:

24hrs notice is required for all cancellations and rescheduling, so please be respectful of other people's time and try to give notice as early as possible. If the client cancels/ reschedules and does not give advance notice they will be charged a 50% fee  or vouchers will be redeemed. If the client doesn’t give any notice and is a no show, then they will be charged a 100% fee.If it happens multiple times, then the client will have to pre-pay for your session when booking which will be non-refundable if less then 24hrs notice is given. When a client doesn’t show up for their appointment not only does it cost the office time and money, as well as delay scheduling for other clients, but more importantly they are also breaking a commitment to themselves and their healing journey. If the client is late for their appointment, then the session still falls within the allotted time slot. If the client is late more then 15mins then we may have to reschedule your appointment to a later date. Appropriate need time is needed in between sessions for clients that wish to purchasing goods, preparing the room for the next appointment, and responding to other clients. Thank you for your consideration. If I am ever late, the session still lasts the designated time or the session is pro-raided. If I need to cancel/reschedule an appointment, I will give 24hrs notice whenever possible. If I can’t do so, the client’s next session will be discounted.

FAQ about Reiki sessions:

Q: What can I expect during or after a Reiki session?

A: It’s very common for new clients to feel nervous or anxious before a session. It often helps to treat the session just like any other relaxing technique. Since very session is unique, I can’t predict what you’ll go through but I do walk you through the common experiences. The same goes for after your session. I do encourage you drink lots of water before and after your session and to read my blogs about these topics.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Due to COVID-19 masks are encouraged. Clients should come in comfortable cloths, perhaps dress in layers since some clients experience things like hot or cold waves. The office does tend to get cold, so blankets are available upon request. Please do not wear any strong fragrances. Often clients like to take off their shoes to feel more grounded, please no heels on the massage table. I don’t encourage short dresses or skirts since you have to get on and off the massage table but that’s really up to you. Feel free to not wear make-up since it will just be you and I, some clients can become emotional and tears are always welcomed.

Q: Do I need to do anything to prepare for the session?

A: It’s important to give yourself plenty of time before the session. Know that it’s normal to feel anxious before meeting someone new or going to a place you’ve never been. Since we only have a limited time, to get the most out of each session you should take some time to reflect on what you wish to accomplish. I’m sure you may have many areas of concern but it’s best to have one or two manageable goals that you wish to get out of your first session. Many clients seek out Reiki to help with things like anxiety, depression, or relaxation but these are long-term goals that require many sessions and dedication. Try to take some time to reflect on what’s contributing to that feeling to get to the root of your concern. We’ll have a few minutes to address some of your concerns before the session. Some practitioners do require their clients to do ritual prep work so that their aura is already cleared but I don’t find it necessary.

Q: Is it appropriate to tip?

A: Any gratuity is always appreciated but never expected. I think of my practices like any other business that provides a service. I know a lot of people don’t like to carry cash on them so I do except any forms of payment like card, Venmo, and Zelle.

Q: How often should I have a Reiki session?

A: How often you decide to benefit from my services are always completely up to you. Although one session may be adequate for short-term relaxation, long-term imbalances in the body requires multiple treatments in order to allow the body to reach the level of relaxation necessary to bring the system back into balance. Improvement often requires commitment on the client’s part (e.g., willingness to make lifestyle changes) in order to fully benefit from Reiki® treatment(s). At first, the energy might not hold as very long; but over time we work on clearing out more of the blockages and your body and hold on to the energy for longer periods of time. I usually recommend a follow up session after 1-2 weeks so I may check to see how well your body is holding the energy and identify certain areas that you might be storing stress. Eventually, we start to space out the sessions longer. Most of my regular clients come in about once a month.
